The Long Winter is a survival drama in pre-production at 302 Story Works. It strips a story down to its most elemental shape — a small group, an unending white, and the distance between them and anyone they love — and asks what a person becomes when everything except endurance has been taken away.
The snow is not a backdrop; it is the antagonist and the mirror. In a landscape with nothing to hide behind, character is the only thing left to photograph. We are developing the film around long, patient images and the kind of silence that makes a single spoken word land like a blow — production design and lens language built to hold pressure rather than release it.
The story is being developed as an original, character-driven feature, part of the studio's slate of films about people at the edge of what they can carry.
